Habitat
Off the rocks, harbour mouths, over reef — surface and mid-water (São Lourenço, Funchal, Madalena, Machico).
Method
Spinning with stickbaits/spoons/metals; float-fished live bait. Use a bite trace (heavy fluoro/wire) — sharp teeth.
Bait & lures
Garfish/small live bait; long-casting metals and minnows.
